Wings: Butterfly Garden · Effective 13 October 2026

Wings is a quiet game about growing a butterfly garden. We built it to need as little of your information as possible. Here is exactly what that means.

No ads, no trackingNo advertising, no advertising IDs, and nothing that follows you across other apps or websites.
No account neededNo sign-in, name, email or password. You can play without ever telling us who you are.
Your garden lives on your deviceYour save stays on your phone or computer unless you choose to turn on sync.
Never sold or sharedWe don’t sell your information or share it with anyone for marketing.

Who we are

Wings is made by NimbleBit, a small independent game studio in San Diego, California (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the Wings game on the web at wings.nimblebit.com and the Wings apps for iPhone, iPad and Android.

Always on

Anonymous play statistics

So we can see how many people play, for how long, and whether something is broken, the game sends a few small messages to our own statistics service. They contain:

We don’t use cookies, and we don’t combine this with information from anywhere else.

Your choice

Features you can choose to use

Sync between devices

If you turn on sync, your save (your gardens, butterflies, coins and progress, including any garden names you typed) is stored on our servers under a random sync code, along with a short summary such as your level and number of butterflies. We keep earlier copies for 30 days so we can help if a save goes wrong. You can turn sync off at any time, and Delete Synced Copy in Options removes your cloud copy; earlier copies are erased within 30 days and our database backups within 35 days.

Wings Supporter and Wing Tips

Wings Supporter (in the apps) and tips are optional purchases that support the game. Payments are handled entirely by Apple (App Store), Google (Google Play) or, on the web, Stripe. We never see your card details. We keep a record of each purchase (a random tip number, the store’s transaction number, the product and whether it was refunded) so we can deliver it, restore Wings Supporter on your other devices and handle refunds. When you tip on the web, Stripe collects your email and payment details under Stripe’s privacy policy; we may use the email Stripe gives us only to help you recover a synced garden if you ask.

Invites

When you invite a friend, the game creates a random invite code. We count how many friends joined and reached a level with your code so you can collect rewards. We don’t know who you invited.

Information that comes with any connection

Like every website and app, our servers receive your IP address and basic browser details when the game loads files or checks for updates. Our hosting provider’s access logs keep these for 30 days; we use them to keep the service running, prevent abuse and estimate how many players there are. We don’t use them to identify you.

What stays on your device

Your game save, settings (music, sounds, theme, camera) and a diagnostics log stay in your browser or app storage. The diagnostics log includes technical details like your device model and graphics card; it never leaves your device unless you choose Export Diagnostics and send it to us yourself. On Android, the system may include this storage in your own Google device backup.

Who helps us run Wings

The game contains no third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting software. Links in Options to the fan-run Discord, NimbleBit’s website and music credits open in your browser and are covered by those sites’ own policies.
